Over 5,671 Covid-19 tests were conducted yesterday (16 June) health officials confirmed. The Ministry of Health detected 540 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.

Health officials said that 349 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 187 others were infected from local contacts while 4 cases were detected in recent arrivals from abroad.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 599 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 13,866 so far.

The latest update (16 June, 10:00 am) reveals that there are currently 133 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 27 are in a critical condition. Over 5,613 cases are stable out of a total of 5,640 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 13,866. Bahrain has conducted over 4,38,080 tests.  

Bahrain has recorded the total death toll from Covid-19 to 47.
