A 20-year-old was sentenced to 3 years in jail for forced robbing an Asian female. This was decided by the Lower Criminal Court. 

Details of the case, according to court’s documents, indicated that on April 8, 2020, the convicted followed the victim from where she works to her residence in East Riffa. He waited until she was about to get inside the residence and attacked her from behind and stole her wallet and her phone. 

After the victim, who stated that she tried to catch the attacker but was unable to catch reported the incident, reported the incident the police managed to arrest the convicted with the help of CCTV cameras after spotting his car’s blade number. 

The Public Prosecution stated that the defendant was convicted with two charges, force robbery and attacking the safety of others.
