Over 8,829 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Sunday (26 July) health officials confirmed.

The Ministry of Health detected 384 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.

Health officials said that 199 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 177 others were infected from local contacts and 8 are travel related.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 484 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 35,689 so far.

The latest update (26 July) reveals that there are currently 98 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 48 are in a critical condition. Over 3,254 cases are stable out of a total of 3,302 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 35,689. 

 Bahrain has conducted over 788,910 tests. Two male citizens, 60 and 65 and a male expatriate 60 died, taking the total number of deaths due to the coronavirus to 140.

Health officials urged citizens and residents to abide by the precautionary measures to avert a surge of COVID-19 cases during the Eid Al-Adha festivities and avoid the Eid Al-Fitr scenario.
