Covid-19 can be contracted from an active case explained National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus member Lieutenant Colonel Dr Manaf Al Qahtani addressing four key categories who are contacts of active cases.
The categories are households, closed environment, health centres or health labs and physical contact or touching droplets of the virus.
Bahrain has the highest number of tests conducted crossing the 386000 mark.
“The tests help us to identify the cases and whether they have symptoms or not and to complete the process. Bahrain saw an increase in the number of active cases and that leads to complications and death cases as seen in the past 10 days. The non-compliance of individuals is a major factor for the increase in cases” said Dr Al-Qahtani.
Meanwhile, Bahrain has been recording a large number of recoveries owing to the development of treatment protocols. He emphasised that the virus’ developments require changing the data and practical conclusions based on medical research. In addition to this, the medical team has been providing continuous care at the quarantine and isolation centres.
He indicated that in addition to wearing face masks, other health guidelines, including continuous hand washing and social distancing, are equally important.
Dr Al-Qahtani stressed that Bahrain is implementing all precautionary and preventive measures required by WHO for the best interests of everyone.
The latest update reveals (09 June) that there are currently 79 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 13 are in a critical condition. Over 5,048 cases are stable out of a total of 5,061 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 11,109. Bahrain has so far conducted over 386134 tests.
