Over 8,417 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Sunday (19 July) health officials confirmed.
The Ministry of Health detected 418 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.
Health officials said that 201 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 207 others were infected from local contacts while 10 are travel related.
The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 607 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 32,372 so far.
The latest update (19 July) reveals that there are currently 70 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 46 are in a critical condition. Over 3,878 cases are stable out of a total of 3,924 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 32,372.
Bahrain has conducted over 726140 tests. Two men – a Bahraini, 78, and an expat, 59, – died yesterday, taking the total number of deaths in Bahrain due to the coronavirus to 126.
Meanwhile, Capital Governor Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa commended volunteers, hailing their efforts to achieve community partnership goals and combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Addressing a virtual conference held via videoconference, he praised volunteers’ role in enhancing social awareness to contain the pandemic and serve the nation.
They hailed the volunteers’ role in containing the pandemic by inspecting beauty parlours and barbershops to ensure their compliance with the preventive measures, in addition to disinfecting some roads.![]()
