A total of 492 face-mask violations were recorded and legal procedures were taken against them. This was announced by the Southern Governorate and Capital Governorate Police Directorates via the Ministry of Interior’s official social media accounts. 

The Directorates stated that police gave 38 social distancing warnings to commercial shop owners that have not adhere to the precautionary measures to limit the spread of the COVID-19.  

The Directorates stated that police would continue carrying out all legal procedures in regards to violations of wearing face mask and social distancing in all commercial shop as part of precautionary measures to limit the spread of the virus.  

They explained that the community service police officers intensified educating citizens and residents about the necessity of social distancing in markets, shops and parks and to abstain from not gathering for more than 5 people while committing to wearing face masks. 

The confirmed that during the Eid period, police patrols  and community service police would be intensified in markets, complexes and public places, in the context of controlling violations and educating citizens and residents about the need for social distancing and not going out except for necessity.
