Over 7,927 Covid-19 tests were conducted yesterday (22 June) health officials confirmed. The Ministry of Health detected 643 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.

Health officials said that 371 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 262 others were infected from local contacts while 3 cases were detected in recent arrivals from abroad.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 443 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 16,862 so far.

The latest update (22 June) reveals that there are currently 148 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 37 are in a critical condition. Over 5,443 cases are stable out of a total of 5,480 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 16,862. Bahrain has conducted over 4,85,715 tests. 

The Ministry of Health announced the death of an 87-year-old male citizen and a 90-year-old male citizen from COVID-19 and expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased. This brings the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 to 65 in Bahrain.
