Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup has been backed by Indonesia's football federation (PSSI), a week after PSSI president Erick Thohir said they were in talks with Australia about a joint bid.

According to Thohir, Indonesia supports Saudi Arabia's bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034. It is Indonesia's intention to host the FIFA World Cup after 2034, as well as other FIFA events.

A deadline of Oct. 31 has been set by FIFA for bids from Asia and Oceania for the 2034 tournament.

He said last week he had discussed a possible bid that could have included Malaysia and Singapore with his Australian counterpart.

In the past, Football Australia has expressed interest in bidding for the tournament.
