A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the Patent Prosecution Highway Pilot Program was signed between Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Zheng Shanjie, Commissioner of China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).
Asserting the desire to continue expanding cooperation in various fields, the minister praised the longstanding Bahraini-Chinese relations.
During his remarks, he emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences in order to promote progress and growth in this field, and emphasized the commitment of the Kingdom to enhancing innovation and developing policies and procedures that protect intellectual property.
According to Fakhro, the MoU aims to strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of intellectual property protection and develop innovation capabilities in both countries, strengthen economic and technical cooperation, stimulate innovation and grow important industries in both countries in order to enhance bilateral economic relations.
