In the framework of a new social contract, the Education Ministry participated in the Regional Dialogue Forum on "The Future of Education and Education on Human Rights".

In Cairo, Egypt, 22 Arab countries participated in the conference organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

It coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as the 30th anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, which was held within the framework of a desire to hold regional consultations to discuss human rights education. During the event, best practices in human rights education were highlighted.

In her work paper, Fatima Adel Sanad, a specialist in the Education for Citizenship Unit of the Education Ministry's Curriculum Development and Policies Directorate, discussed how the kingdom has implemented education for citizenship as well as spreading a culture of human rights.

According to her, the national laws and legislation reflect the interest of the kingdom's leadership in this area. In addition, she reviewed the new and developed curricula being implemented in schools.

On the basis of Bahrain's experience, she also offered some recommendations regarding the future of human rights education in the Arab region.
