The growing political participation of Bahraini women will deepen their achievements, successes, and contributions to national development, said Hala Ramzi Fayez, a member of the Shura Council and the Bureau of Women Parliamentarians of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU).

As she noted, Bahraini women's advancement has been sustained by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

She expressed pride in the national initiatives and strategies aimed at opening up wider horizons for Bahraini women to consolidate their status and national role, and paid tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.

In parallel with the IPU's 147th Assembly and related meetings, currently being hosted by Angola, Hala Ramzi Fayez chaired a panel discussion within the "Women Parliamentarian Forum".

As part of the session, the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights discussed a draft resolution entitled "Orphanage trafficking: Parliaments' role in reducing harm".

A panel discussion was held in which Fayez stated that Bahraini women, as active members of the legislative branch, would like to present legislative visions and initiatives that would strengthen legal protection for all social groups, including orphans, who receive the highest level of care from both public and private institutions.
