Aminah bint Abdullah Al-Zahrani, a teacher specializing in visual impairment education at the integration classes of Jeddah Governorate Education, has developed an Arabic tablet tailored for blind individuals to facilitate mathematical operations.
As reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Zahrani has received a patent from the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and has successfully registered her invention with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
This innovative tablet, which took six years to develop, is designed to cater to the needs of individuals with visual impairments. It serves as a Braille-based learning tool and originated from the integration schools of Al-Nour Institutes. The tablet empowers visually impaired students to perform mathematical calculations and acquire knowledge in Arabic and English, including letters, words, sentences, as well as various subjects like chemistry.
Al-Zahrani encourages all institutions and integration programs dedicated to visually impaired students to gradually incorporate the educational tablet and its applications, beginning with elementary grades.
