During Tuesday's shooting spree at the luxury Bangkok mall, a teenage gunman shot two foreigners and wounded five others, the latest high-profile incident of gun violence in the country.

In Bangkok's crowded commercial heart, hundreds of people, including children, were seen screaming and running into the streets after gunshots rang out at the Siam Paragon Mall, a major shopping and entertainment venue.

It is reported that two women, from China and Myanmar, have been killed and five others have been injured in the attack.

Torsak Sukvimol, chief of the national police, said the suspected shooter was 14 years old and had been receiving psychiatric treatment; however, he skipped his prescribed medication that day.

Torsak told reporters that his parents have been contacted.

According to the suspect, he was told to shoot others by someone.

Security guards escorted fleeing shoppers from the mall into torrential rain and onto a heavily traveled road. As a gunshot was heard, some rushed towards the exit of a ground-floor supermarket, screaming.

Shir Yahav, 26, from Israel, who was at a designer store at the time of the shooting, said, "The shooting took place in just a few minutes. We saw all the people running.
