Over 7,000 investment stakeholders from 160 countries attended the eighth edition of the World Investment Forum (WIF) today in Abu Dhabi.

Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the forum will bring together world leaders, heads of state, decision-makers, business leaders, senior executives of multinational companies, and representatives of civil society.

As a leading global platform for shaping investment and development policies and strategies, the WIF has evolved from its inception into one of the world's leading institutions.

In addition to UNCTAD, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development is the main partner in organizing the forum.

The theme of this year's forum is "Investing in Sustainable Development." Through its sessions and lectures, it addresses pressing issues like food security, sustainable energy, healthcare infrastructure, and global supply chain challenges and solutions.

As part of the forum, sustainability principles will remain a key focus in investment strategies and decisions, taking into account public interest and contributing to sustainable development.

Besides technical content, the forum also offers exclusive meetings and conferences, dialogue sessions and seminars, as well as specialized conferences on topics such as sustainable energy and entrepreneurship.

Toward the end of the forum, there will be presentations of innovative financial instruments targeting fossil fuel assets, as well as trade and investment policies.
