Supported by SICO Bank, the national afforestation campaign (Forever Green) has planted 115 Al Ghaf seedlings along Alhunayniyah hill.
This marks SICO's third contribution to Forever Green, a campaign organized by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture and the Supreme Council for Environment.
Al Ghaf trees, integral to Bahrain's cultural and environmental heritage, were chosen for their ability to combat desertification, reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality, and provide shade, as determined by specialists from the Southern Municipality. The selected location, Alhunayniyah, is a popular recreational area for individuals of all ages, making it an ideal setting for the planting of Al Ghaf trees given the nature of its terrain.
