At Gudaibiya Palace, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa received the newly appointed President of the Arabian Gulf University, HE Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid.

In his remarks, His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of higher education institutions in developing the Kingdom's workforce and supporting Bahrainis to contribute to the progress and development of the country.

To contribute to the Kingdom's wide-ranging development goals, HRH the Deputy King noted the importance of keeping pace with the latest educational tools to support creativity and innovation.

Salman bin Hamad expressed his best wishes to HE Dr Saad for achieving the university's goals.

By developing specialised medical personnel, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended the University's contributions to scientific research and the GCC's health sectors.

He also expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for supporting the university's educational mission and for the opportunity to meet with him. In addition, HE Al Fuhaid wished the Kingdom of Bahrain progress and prosperity.

His Royal Highness the Deputy King remembered the efforts of the late Dr Khaled Abdul Rahman Al-Ohali, who served as president of the Arabian Gulf University for many years.

In attendance were HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and HE Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Minister of Education.
