Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, was received by Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has supported the reform approach of alternative sentencing and open prisons, according to the minister, who commended the continued support of the government headed by the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister.

Shaikh Rashid expressed appreciation for the professionalism and high performance of the directorate's affiliates, noting that the graduation of the first batch of open prisons was a success story that made the alternative sanctions project an exemplary model of human rights and community service for reformation and rehabilitation.

In implementing the alternative sanctions project, the minister praised the collaboration between government, private sector, and civil society organizations.
