A Bahraini elderly passed away after being seriously injured in a traffic accident in Arad area. This was announced by the Ministry of Interior through its official social media accounts. 

Initial details of the sorrowful accident, which occurred late last, are still not revealed by officials. But comments on various social media accounts showed that a young driver was the cause of the accident after having exceeded the speed limits, hit the decedent who was trying to cross the street and collided with other vehicle that were parked. 

Comments added that the decedent was a 61-year-old Bahraini, who had just retired from the Ministry of Health. The ministry has mourned the decedent on its social media accounts. It stated that he was an employee at the ministry’s training department. 

Police first responded and were present at the scene to facilitate flow of traffic until the arrival of the traffic police as two lines were closed because of the accident until the civil defense personnel removed the wreckage of the damaged car and the oil in the street.

The Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic stated that they initiated an investigation into the accident.
