Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defense, and National Security Committee of the Shura Council, commended the Interior Ministry's efforts that resulted in the graduation of the first batch of Open Prisons Program recipients.
 
The royal comprehensive development process reflects His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's vision of securing human rights and freedoms, as well as humanitarian values and civilisational principles.  
 
Panelists argued that the efforts of the Interior Ministry and the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing to honor program graduates and sponsors contributed to the success of the Alternative Sentencing project, which has enhanced the kingdom's reputation and human rights status globally and regionally.
 
A panelist noted that under His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa's directives, the Ministry of Interior has implemented alternative sentencing and open prisons, which have placed Bahrain among developed countries in human rights, adding to the kingdom's rich record of preserving rights and freedoms, as confirmed by many international organizations.
 
For their efforts to implement and ensure the success of the Open Prisons Programme and Alternative Sentencing project, the Shura committee extended its gratitude to General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Interior Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Director-General for Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, as well as all Ministry affiliates.
