Bahrain Registers 278 New Cases, 515 Recoveries On Saturday

Over 6,955 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Saturday (29 August) health officials confirmed.

The Ministry of Health detected 278 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.

Health officials said that 111 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 165 others were infected from local contacts of active cases and 02 are travel related.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 515 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 48,275 so far.

The latest update (29 August) reveals that there are currently 52 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 32 are in a critical condition. Over 2,895 cases are stable out of a total of 2,972 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 48,275.

Bahrain has conducted over 1,095,373 tests. Bahrain’s coronavirus death toll stands at 189.

Meanwhile, the Northern Governorate Police Directorate reported 1538 violations related to the rule of social distancing and 5057 violations of not wearing masks at a public place. It carried 521 awareness campaigns.

The Capital Governorate Police Directorate took 367 steps to protect social distancing in the district, along with reporting 3793 mask-related violations and distributed 4200 meals among expatriate workers. It also held 601 awareness campaigns.
