Public Security Chief Lt.-General Tariq Al Hassan has highlighted the Interior Ministry's efforts to fight the coronavirus (COVID-19) as part of the directives of the Interior Minister and the decisions of the Executive Committee.

Al Hassan was chairing the Bahraini side at the in joint security work team ninth meeting with the UK Home Office. Head of International Cooperation and Delivery Team (ICDT) of the UK Home Office Mark Challen chaired the UK side.

Al Hassan highlighted the training courses between the two sides and their successful results in fighting coronavirus and confirmed the continuation of cooperation in training and enhancing the performance of the police personnel.

The meeting discussed topics related to security management to meet the Interior Ministry’s strategy in reinforcing cyber security and development of all its sectors.

The construction phases of the new Bahrain International Airport and the training courses for airport security were also reviewed.

The meeting also covered the positive results of the implementation of the alternative punishment from which 2,701 convicts benefited.
