Amidst the Covid-19, school calendars were full with students celebrating various festivities online. One of the largest expatriate schools on the island, the Indian School Bahrain tuned the curriculum framework to meet the needs of the digital transformation.

“Young learners from the age of four and above are now attuned to the new digital tools and skills and enjoy this blended learning with their teachers and peers. Online contact time for the young ones is in keeping with the optimum attention span of the students. The cooperation of the parent community has been exemplary and we extend our sincere gratitude to them,” ISB Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier.

Students are treated to constructively gain knowledge and key skills across the areas like environmental sciences, basic mathematical skills, regional languages and cultural awareness and expression. It has brought positive bearings toward students’ learning activities including achievement, motivation, engagement, and interaction she highlighted.

“An inspiring transformation of Cloud Computing and Learning has been occurring at the Indian School, Riffa Campus this term. The School has transcended to the new normal of Online Learning after the challenges posed globally now,” said ISB Honorary Chairman Prince S Natarajan.

Webinars and professional development channels have become the Web Staffroom among teachers where new skills are learnt, adapted and implemented. Inspiring teaching-learning videos made by school teachers have been found making social rounds with appreciations pouring in from different corners.

“The Indian School Bahrain always had in place an online presence and virtual technology which made it easy to swiftly extend learning right into the heart of the learners,” Honorary Secretary Saji Antony.

Students celebrated the International Yoga Day, National Mathematics Day, Earth day virtually. Children practised yoga with various yoga poses sharing their health benefits among peers.

Celebrating relationships, crafts were designed for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. On World Environment day students marked the day by growing and nurturing plants in their home garden and planting seedlings in recycled bottles and pots.
