Paul Arriola and Jesús Ferreira found the net within the first 18 minutes, leading FC Dallas to a comfortable 3-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders on Saturday, which forces a third match to determine the outcome of the first-round playoff series.

Arriola wasted no time, scoring just six minutes into the game with assists from Bernard Kamungo and Paxton Pomykal. Ferreira added to the lead with a penalty kick 12 minutes later, sending Dallas into halftime with a 2-0 advantage. Ferreira took the penalty after Kamungo drew a foul from Seattle defender Nouhou Tolo, according to the Associated Press (AP).

Jordan Morris scored an unassisted goal three minutes into the second half, bringing the Sounders (14-10-11) within a single goal.

Jáder Obrian sealed the victory for Dallas with an unassisted goal in the 89th minute.

Maarten Paes made three saves for Dallas, while Stefan Frei, who led the league with 14 clean sheets during the regular season, did not register a save for the Sounders.

Dallas has an impressive 9-1-4 record in its last 13 home matches against Seattle.

Seattle's six-match unbeaten streak (3-0-3) on the road across all competitions came to an end, marking the club's longest stretch away from home since a seven-match run in 2018.

The victory put an end to Dallas's five consecutive home draws, improving their record to 4-0-7 in their last 11 home matches. Dallas now stands at 12-1-8 in their last 21 home matches against Western Conference opponents in all competitions.
The decisive match in the series is scheduled for Friday in Seattle.
