On Thursday night, De'Aaron Fox delivered a stellar performance with 41 points, leading the Sacramento Kings to a 128-123 victory over Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Despite a remarkable showing by Gilgeous-Alexander, who tallied 43 points, nine assists, and six rebounds, the Thunder couldn't secure the win. The Kings held a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Thunder narrowed the gap to two with a 13-2 run. However, late baskets from Fox and Keegan Murray, coupled with improved defense from Sacramento, secured the victory.

This marked the third time this season that Fox scored over 40 points. In addition to his scoring prowess, Fox contributed seven assists and three rebounds, shooting 14 of 25 from the field. The game showcased a compelling matchup between two of the NBA's top young point guards, with both Gilgeous-Alexander and Fox delivering impressive performances. Gilgeous-Alexander went 16 for 18 at the free-throw line, while Fox made five 3-pointers.

Kings coach Mike Brown anticipated an exciting matchup, acknowledging the talent of both players. Despite coming off a recent loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Kings extended their winning streak against the Thunder to eight games.

Sacramento's Domantas Sabonis posted 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Malik Monk also contributed 18 points. A standout in the game was Keon Ellis, an undrafted free agent who scored a career-high 17 points, including five 3-pointers.

The Thunder, previously on a positive streak with four wins in five games, couldn't capitalize on Gilgeous-Alexander's 14-point first quarter. Thunder coach Mark Daigneault praised his team's execution and resilience in staying competitive, even when shots weren't initially falling.

Sacramento shot over 50% from the floor in the first half, and although Oklahoma City stayed in the game with Gilgeous-Alexander's performance and success at the foul line, the Kings led 59-53 at halftime.

In upcoming games, the Thunder will face the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, while the Kings will host the Utah Jazz on Saturday night.
