Tesla is targeting an annual production of 200,000 units for its electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck, as stated by CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday. The company had previously indicated a production capacity exceeding 125,000 Cybertrucks per year, with Musk suggesting the potential to increase that number to 250,000 by 2025.

Deliveries of the highly anticipated pickup truck are scheduled to commence on November 30, nearly four years after its unveiling by Musk at an event in Los Angeles. During that event, the vehicle's "armor glass" window was famously cracked with a metal ball during a series of tests.

Musk emphasized the significant challenges involved in the production of the Cybertruck, stating, "We're aiming to make about 200,000 a year at point production ... maybe a little more, but I just can't emphasize enough that manufacturing is much, much harder than the initial design." He also acknowledged the difficulties in ramping up production and achieving positive cash flow, referring to it as digging their "own grave" during an earnings call earlier this month.
