Over 600 masks were donated for expatriate workers in Bahrain. The initiative was organized by the Indian Ladies Association (ILA) were they handed over the masks to the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF). Over 350 (cloth masks) and 250 (disposable masks) were handed over to ICRF.
ILA commends the efforts of ICRF for reaching out to the expatriate workers and providing excellent support to the needy at this time of need. ILA's Hon. President Reena Sreedhar and Hon. Vice President Sarada Ajith, handed over the masks to ICRF Chairman Arul Das in the presence of other ICRF officials Bhagwan Asarpota, John Philip and Suresh Babu.
Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy donated over 100 packages of food items to the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam towards the COVID19 relief to be distributed to the needy. Indian Embassy Second Secretary P K Chowdhary personally visited the Samajam and handed over the relief packages to General Secretary Varghese Karakkal in the presence of other Executives Committee members
Indian Social Forum Bahrain, Kerala chapter also donated food supplies to members of the Indian Community. The initiative was part of their efforts to help those affected by the current situation. Social Forum volunteers reached out to over 100 people.
Over 647 kits that included about 12 basic food items were packed and distributed to the most affected community which included recently-unemployed hairdressers, domestic workers, migrant workers that lost their jobs at construction sites etc. Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samiti (MASS) conducted the initiative which also saw kits provided to families in unfortunate conditions to give them a sense of relief and to reduce the growing panic amongst them.
