James Cleverly, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, met with HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

As WAM reported, the two parties discussed the latest developments in the Middle East.

The meeting reviewed international efforts to de-escalate, protect civilians, and ensure the sustainable and safe delivery of relief and medical aid to civilians, emphasizing the necessity of uniting regional and global efforts in order to enhance response and meet the needs of affected civilians.

In his speech, HH Shaikh Abdullah stressed that the international community must double its efforts to end extremism, tension, and escalating violence in the region.

During their meeting, the two ministers also discussed the economic and trade ties between their countries.

UAE-UK strategic partnership was highlighted by HH Shaikh Abdullah.
