Government Increases Financial Support For Low-income Families And Bahrain Retirees

A Bahraini legislative panel has agreed to increase the financial support for low-income families and Bahraini retirees.
Appropriate measures are to be taken regarding a draft law related to amending some provisions on social insurance and support for low-income families. The panel has agreed to amend the legislation to increase the value of support for those entitled to it from the programme by 10% They also agreed to increase the support programme for low-income families by 10%, and pay an annual increase to retirees for those whose pensions do not exceed BD1,500 at a rate of 3% for the year 2021 and 3% for the year 2022.
