His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), held a meeting with Ng Ser Miang, Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The meeting was attended by HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council; Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS); Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority; Fares Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary-General of the BOC; and Mohammed Abdullatif bin Jalal, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA).
HH emphasized the BOC's commitment to enhancing its partnership with the International Olympic Committee to further the Olympic movement.
HH commended the IOC for its pivotal role in advancing the Olympic movement, promoting the values of sports, and spreading Olympic principles through various sporting initiatives, including the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, and other programs.
HH reaffirmed that the Bahrain Olympic Committee aligns with the Olympic Charter, the constitution of the Olympic Movement, in its collaboration with the International Olympic Committee.
He expressed the kingdom's interest in fostering bilateral cooperation that bolsters Olympic efforts and conveyed his best wishes for the success of the International Olympic Committee.
Miang expressed gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid and lauded the development of sports in Bahrain, as well as the support it receives. He took note of Bahrain's achievements in the Olympics and Asian sports and wished the kingdom continued success.
