Today, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who holds the positions of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), was in attendance at the final match of the Asian Men’s Handball Qualification Tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The final was contested between Bahrain and Japan, and it took place at the Duhail Handball Sports Hall in Doha, Qatar.

Also present at the event were Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, the CEO of GSA, and Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, the Secretary-General of BOC.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad praised the exceptional performance of the Bahraini players, even in the face of their 29-32 defeat. This performance underscored the high level of handball achievement in Bahrain. He extended his best wishes to the national team for success in the Olympic qualifiers and the 2024 Asian Men's Handball Championship.

Furthermore, His Highness Shaikh Khalid expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support of the Bahraini spectators and commended the efforts of BOC in facilitating fan transportation. He also acknowledged Gulf Air's valuable support for this initiative.
