
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa commends the successful organization of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Expo City Dubai. His Majesty praises the host country for providing excellent facilities that ensured the success of this global event.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), His Majesty appreciates the initiative announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, to establish a US$30 billion fund for global climate solutions. His Majesty also acknowledges the UAE's significant investment of US$100 billion in climate action, renewable energy, and clean energy. Additionally, His Majesty notes the UAE's commitment to invest an additional US$130 billion over the next seven years.
His Majesty King Hamad values the pioneering initiatives of the UAE, emphasizing its dedication to supporting global climate action and fostering sustainable development for the benefit of all humanity. He expresses hope that COP28 will yield qualitative results that advance international climate action.
