Bahrain TV, in collaboration with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) and the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza, organized a national campaign today under the theme 'Day of Solidarity with Our People in Gaza... We Are with You.' This telethon event was held in accordance with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is organized under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who serves as HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
During this event, HM King Hamad donated $8.5 million, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, contributed BD 500,000 to the campaign. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed deep gratitude to HM the King for his humanitarian initiatives in support of the Palestinian people, reflecting Bahrain's unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause and its strong bond with the Palestinian people.
His Highness praised the substantial support provided by the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the RHF and the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza, reaffirming Bahrain's solidarity with the Palestinian people during their humanitarian crisis and emphasizing the duty dictated by Islamic teachings, Arab traditions, and the enduring Bahraini-Palestinian relations.
His Highness also emphasized that this national campaign mirrors Bahrain's resolute stance, as it demonstrates the leadership's commitment to supporting friendly nations in times of crisis and humanitarian challenges. The generosity of Bahraini citizens in responding to the call of duty in solidarity with the Palestinians was commended, as they made significant contributions to the national campaign.
Furthermore, His Highness Shaikh Nasser called on all institutions, companies, citizens, and residents to join the noble humanitarian campaign, aimed at providing relief aid to the Palestinian people during their difficult times.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad was the first to contribute to the initiative with a donation of BD 100,000, following HM the King's guidance.
Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, RHF Secretary-General and CEO of the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza, lauded HM the King's directives to assist and provide relief aid to the Palestinians. He highlighted the government's vital support, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which played a crucial role in the campaign's success. He also acknowledged the significance of His Highness Shaikh Nasser's efforts in establishing the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza, which unified national efforts to aid the Palestinians during their challenging circumstances.
Dr. Al Sayed announced that more than $16 million had been collected during the telethon, expressing gratitude to all donors and confirming that preparations were underway to promptly deliver humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinians. He added that donations could still be made through the official channels announced by the RHF.
Taha Abdul Qader, the Palestinian Ambassador to Bahrain, praised HM the King's unwavering support for the Palestinian people under all circumstances, underscoring Bahrain's firm commitment to the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people. He also expressed the appreciation of the Palestinian people and their leadership, led by President Mahmood Abbas, for the directives of HM the King, the government, and the solidarity of the Bahraini people with the Palestinian cause.
Throughout the telethon, Bahrain TV hosted various national figures, scholars, intellectuals, and businessmen, all of whom emphasized the significance of contributing to the national campaign aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
