The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, has announced an extension of the registration period for the second batch of participants in the Technical Development Program. Interested individuals can now register until Monday, January 15, 2024, via the iGA’s website: iga.gov.bh.
The iGA clarified that the extension is aimed at attracting a broader group of ICT graduates and individuals with technical expertise who are seeking employment to join the program. Emphasizing the unique opportunity for participants to enhance their skills and foster creativity and innovation in technical fields, the iGA highlighted that applicants must be Bahraini citizens aged between 21 and 30, holding a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent field. Additionally, applicants must be registered as job seekers or beneficiaries of unemployment benefits with the Ministry of Labour.
Required documents include a copy of the applicant's university certificate, CV, and any other relevant certificates supporting their application.
Launched in December of the previous year by the Ministry of Labour and the iGA, the Technical Development Program provides intensive training within various iGA departments for approximately 240 young individuals over a three-year period, averaging 80 trainees per year. Participants receive monthly salaries supported by the Ministry of Labour throughout the training period.
The iGA has initiated intensive practical training for the first batch of trainees accepted into the program. This initial group of 80 young individuals began their training at the beginning of the current year, rotating through various technical departments and handling daily tasks. Their academic courses, in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), started in July of the previous year and will continue until March 2024. During this period, each trainee will have the opportunity to obtain two professional certifications through a series of courses and exams.
