A member of the Council of Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly (UNCPGA) and former President of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Shaikha Haya bint Rashid Al Khalifa attended the UNCPGA meeting held in South Korea from October 18-20.

South Korean UNCPGA Chairman Han Seung-soo presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, Dennis Francis, President of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, was present.

According to the Seoul Declaration, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa offered to establish a foundation to support the Council's program of work.

With regard to the conflict in Gaza, the Council called for the immediate release of hostages, an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, and immediate humanitarian aid access for civilians.

According to the Seoul Declaration, Gaza's besieged civilians need water, food, medicine, and essential supplies to survive.

There was an emphasis in the declaration on the necessity of ending the war and supporting the efforts for a permanent settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on a two-state solution.

With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), the Council received detailed reports about how to combat international cybercrime and counterterrorism issues.
