In the 81st minute, Federico Dimarco initiated a run down the left flank, delivering a precise low cross into the penalty area. There, Thuram outpaced his marker and calmly slotted the ball into the net.

Inter now boasts 25 points from 10 games, with Juventus following closely behind at 23 points, according to Reuters.

Juventus briefly claimed the top spot by clinching a last-second 1-0 win at home against Hellas Verona on Saturday.

Roma, managed by Jose Mourinho, who was suspended and observed the game from the press box, currently occupies eighth place with 14 points.

Early in the game, Hakan Calhanoglu had the first scoring opportunity for Inter, launching a powerful strike from outside the penalty area that swerved and struck the crossbar.

Roma found it challenging to disrupt Inter's rhythm as the home team generated several scoring opportunities in the opening stages. Thuram had a shot saved by goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
