a partnership agreement with KPMG, the Labour Fund, Tamkeen will employ and train Bahrainis at KPMG's Low-Code Center of Excellence, a first for Bahrain. A pioneering initiative such as this emphasizes the importance of advancing technological innovation and digitization in the kingdom.
Over the next five years, 130 Bahrainis will be trained and employed in Low-Code development approaches and methods, enabling them to develop digital solutions and applications efficiently. When compared to other programming languages, this technology enables developers to develop digital solutions more efficiently and in less time. Organizations will learn how to develop, deploy, and manage websites and applications without writing extensive code through the training.
"This initiative is aligned with our efforts to support the growth of the ICT sector as one of the key economic sectors, and aims to maintain the Kingdom's position as a leading regional technology hub, while supporting the achievement of our mandate to empower Bahrainis to be first choice in advanced fields", said Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez.
It is imperative to build a strong base of local talent that is specialized in these new technologies in light of the increasing demand regionally and globally. As part of the program, Bahraini talent will be equipped with new and emerging skillsets that will enable them to adapt to the rapidly changing digital world, compete, and excel at regional and global levels," she said.
"KPMG Bahrain and KPMG Portugal are collaborating to establish the Center of Excellence for Low-Code in Bahrain. This Center of Excellence will focus on serving our clients in Bahrain, the region, and the broader global marketplace. As a result of the governance structure, Bahraini employees will receive world-class training at the Center of Excellence, and international teams can leverage the pool of resources for low-code engagements," said Jamal Fakhro, KPMG Bahrain's Managing Partner.
"This fruitful partnership with Tamkeen is a major step in our joint endeavor to establish a solid base for the low-code development approach in Bahrain, enhancing the skills of new generations of developers and driving ICT innovation in the Kingdom. This initiative aligns with the Center's strategic objectives to develop this new technical field, which enables institutions to boost operational efficiency, improve productivity, and keep pace with digital transformation.
