The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has introduced a trial phase for its Remote Virtual Inspection Services (RVI) as part of an initiative to expand electronic service offerings. Aligned with the digital transformation of government services, this move involves optimizing workflow procedures through technology to enhance efficiency for clients.
Nibras Mohammed Talib, LMRA CEO, emphasized the organization's ongoing commitment to streamlining services, with the official launch of the new RVI service expected by the year's end. Noora Isa Mubarak, LMRA’s Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Enforcement and Protection, highlighted that the virtual inspection service aims to reduce waiting times for inspection visits by 60%, expediting the resolution of administrative violations and the resumption of regular business operations.
During the trial period, over 200 virtual inspection visits have already been conducted. Employers interested in utilizing the service can submit a violation removal request through the electronic support system "E-Support" to schedule a virtual visit. Upon confirmation, they will receive a virtual visit link via email.
The RVI service facilitates video calls between LMRA’s judicial control officer and the employer, allowing for real-time verification of compliance and corrective actions for the facility. Employers are required to have a device with a camera (computer, smartphone, tablet), a stable internet connection, and the Zoom application downloaded for the scheduled appointment time.
