Bahrain's distinguished status as a regional and global leader in the exhibitions and conferences industry, thanks to its qualified and experienced competencies and advanced infrastructure, has been affirmed by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Minister for Oil and Environment and Climate Affairs.
He highlighted the major role played by the Middle East Corrosion Conference and Exhibition (MECC) since its inception in 1979 in achieving its desired goals, including providing and exchanging information for those working in all areas of prevention, as well as access to the latest studies and techniques in this vital field, for those who are interested in prevention.
He made the statements while receiving Dr. Raida Al Alawi, President of the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE), along with members of MECC 2023's organizing committee. MECC 2023 will take place in Bahrain from November 13-16.
Bahrain Society of Engineers and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Dhahran Saudi Arabia Chapter co-organise the 18th MECC at the Gulf International Exhibition Centre, Gulf Hotel, in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil and Environment.
In wishing MECC 2023 every success, the minister praised the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the Bahrain Society of Engineers and sponsor companies, such as Saudi Aramco.
Raida Al Alawi expressed her gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Bin Daina's continuous support for BSE's activities and events, pointing out that the Bahrain Society of Engineers has organized many specialized conferences and exhibitions over the past five decades, including the MECC in 1979, which was one of the first specialized conferences in the kingdom.
In her opinion, BSE has improved MECC's organisation and topics, resulting in an increase in participants and exhibitors in the accompanying exhibition, which has enabled the four-day event to become a unique platform for professionals from all over the world.
The conference Chairman, Mohammed Al-Subaie, announced that 128 work papers will be presented by renowned speakers from different countries as well as an exhibition featuring more than 90 companies.
The exhibition will display pavilions demonstrating how new technologies will contribute to combating corrosion in the nonmetallic and 4th Industrial Revolutions, according to him.
Since its inception in 1979, the biennial corrosion conference and exhibition has become a premier forum for sharing knowledge among corrosion mitigation professionals. Throughout the years, the number of professional and industrial delegates has steadily grown to cover all aspects of corrosion.
A unique opportunity will be provided for the corrosion industry to showcase its latest products, solutions and methodologies in conjunction with the exhibition.
