Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, the Minister of Social Development, presided over the meeting of the National Commission for Childhood.

During the session, discussions centered on collective national endeavors to execute the action plan of the National Commission for Childhood, along with updates on the developments in the Restorative Justice Law for Children and their Protection from Maltreatment.

Al Asfoor emphasized the commission's pivotal role in enhancing the educational, psychological, and cultural aspects of children and safeguarding their rights, aligning with the national strategic objective of protecting children's rights.

The National Commission received the Child-Friendly Institutions Award 2022 for the second consecutive year. This recognition, sanctioned by the jury at the Arab League Secretariat General, lauds the commission's dedication and initiatives in the domain of early childhood.
