NIAD and STC Bahrain have entered into an agreement aimed at enhancing the infrastructure of the Farmers' Market located at the Budaiya Botanical Garden. The signing ceremony involved Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, the Secretary-General of NIAD, and Nezar Banabeela, the Chief Executive Officer of STC Bahrain. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, was also present during the signing.
Minister Al Mubarak emphasized the significance of fostering partnerships with the private sector to support economic development initiatives, particularly in the agricultural sector. He acknowledged the crucial role played by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the Wife of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the NIAD Consultative Council, in supporting the agricultural sector, including the Farmers' Market, which contributes significantly to enhancing food security in the kingdom.
The agreement focuses on upgrading the infrastructure of the farmers' market and implementing renovations over the next four consecutive seasons. Minister Al Mubarak praised the support provided by STC Bahrain and its dedication to national projects. He also commended the collaboration with NIAD in the successful organization of the Farmers' Market in previous seasons.
The NIAD Secretary-General conveyed HRH Princess Sabeeka's appreciation for STC Bahrain's initiative and affirmed ongoing support for the agricultural sector's development. She highlighted the upcoming improvements in the Farmers' Market and underscored its vital role, as a NIAD-backed project, in promoting food security and supporting Bahraini farmers.
STC's CEO reaffirmed the company's commitment to social responsibility and community support initiatives, emphasizing their vision to positively impact society through development programs and collaboration with the public sector.
