The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), organized a virtual workshop entitled "Green Information and Communication Technology."
Governmental and private sectors organizations and universities’ employees, participated in the workshop.
Manal Al-Eid, Head of Information and Communication Technology Department of SCE, presented a working paper consisting of the green communications concept and its role in achieving sustainable development and reviewing the most important SCE initiatives for the environment and Bahrain achievements in this regard.
Dr. Abdel Moneim Mohamed Hassan, Regional Coordinator for Science Programs of UN Environment's West Asia Office, presented a working paper entitled: Legal basis and international mechanisms for environmental protection, in addition to reviewing international environmental agreements.
This event comes within the NIHR plan to strengthen community partnership in the field of green information and communication technology and raise awareness of the most important international laws and instruments concerned with protecting the environment in the field of green information and communication technology.
