"Omani citizens have initiated the voting process to elect their representatives for the Tenth Term of the Shura Council, where 843 candidates, including 32 women, are competing for the 90 available seats.

The voters are using the 'Intakhib' electronic app, and the voting period spans from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Tenth Term of the Shura Council Elections involves the participation of 753,260 registered voters, including 13,843 who have already voted from abroad, according to the Oman News Agency (ONA).

This election is notable as it marks the first use of the improved second version of the 'Intakhib' electronic app. It features an audio reading capability and sign language options to explain the voting process for individuals with hearing or speech impairments.

The application is designed with a user-friendly interface and employs state-of-the-art encryption technologies to enhance security. Voter data verification involves three essential steps: copying both sides of the original ID card, reading the personal card data using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, and taking a personal photo of the voter.

The Ministry of Interior has confirmed its comprehensive readiness for the elections at administrative, technical, and legal levels. They are also prepared to provide press coverage in coordination with relevant authorities.

The Ministry assured that all related data and information will be transparently available through live broadcasts and coverage on Election Day. The digital transition has enabled the Tenth Term Elections to combine accuracy, transparency, and speed in delivering electoral services.

The Tenth Term of the Shura Council holds significance in Oman's future plans, visions, and strategies. It represents a crucial step in realizing the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 in various economic, investment, and development sectors. It will also contribute to the implementation of the Tenth Five-Year Plan and set the course for the Eleventh Five-Year Plan
