
E-commerce companies continue to witness strong demand amidst lockdown. The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) hosted a virtual forum yesterday focusing on the significant impact that social media has on businesses during crises.
During the second virtual meeting themed "Optimizing Social Media and Digital Marketing during Crisis” Global Chairman of Social Media Club Ali Sabkar shed light on smart marketing solutions and the growing importance of social media channels and platforms.
He shared statistics such as the increase in the demand for E-commerce platforms which has amounted to 16.5%. Over 49% of the world population use social media channels on a daily basis, and simultaneously a rapid increase in social media accounts is visible.
Al Sabkar also highlighted Bahrain-specific statistics, revealing that 99% of Bahrain's population is available on some Internet platforms, hence the high potential for E-commerce and marketing, and the opportunity to reach a wider range of customers.
He further reinstated the importance of embracing technology and keeping abreast of E-commerce trends, participants also voiced appreciation to the chamber's efforts in holding such valuable events and called for more similar events.
Al Shater had encouraged all interested business owners and particularly owners of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to take part in the forum and enrich it with their input. He also reinstated the Chamber's keenness on liaising with its members and keeping them informed and updated with latest information and trends.
