ABU Dhabi, Oct. 2 His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bapco Energies Group, has reiterated Bahrain's commitment to reducing carbon emissions by 30% by 2035 and reaching Net Zero by 2060. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to shaping global energy systems. The remarks were made during the Abu Dhabi International Progressive Energy Congress (ADIPEC 2023), hosted by the UAE and under the patronage of President His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. He asserted that participation in ADIPEC 2023 is part of the kingdom's commitment to leading global energy transformation, as well as facing the challenges created by the current energy landscape. The kingdom is fully prepared to play a proactive role in shaping the future of energy with a forward-looking strategy and a strong commitment to climate action. ADIPEC 2023 is important, according to His Highness, due to the gathering of the whole world in the UAE to participate in the 28th Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
