In Saudi Arabia, Eman Ebrahim Abdulla, Planning and Auditing Advisor at the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) and Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Committee, attended the Arab Women's Health Initiative regional meeting under the theme "Your life is precious".
As part of the implementation of the resolution adopted by the 59th Council of Arab Ministers of Health (CAMH) in May, the Saudi Council for Family Affairs organized the meeting in partnership with the Arab League, the Women Development Organisation (WDO) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and its member states.
According to Abdulla, Bahrain is committed to providing high-quality and efficient health services for its citizens, and it supports international efforts to encourage early detection of diseases.
The meeting provided an opportunity for scientists to present papers and medical information about early detection and prevention of breast and cervical cancers.
National efforts and regional cooperation were discussed in regard to breast and cervical cancer prevention and treatment, as well as how social media platforms can be used to raise awareness and support women who have overcome these diseases. A media campaign called "The Pink Warrior" was also discussed.
