
Bahrain is committed to continuing its efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus by strengthening all precautionary and preventive measures taken to ensure everybody’s health and safety stressed Lt. Col. Manaf Al Qahtani, Infectious Disease Consultant & Microbiologist at the BDF Hospital and member of the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
He highlighted the importance of adhering to all COVID-19 safety measures and revealed the latest action Bahrain has taken against the spread of the virus.
Bahrain welcomed an Italian medical delegation to strengthen the bridge of cooperation and exchange knowledge on COVID-19 treatment protocols. The delegation presented its experience in fighting the coronavirus and the Italian health sector’s efforts to face all challenges following the outbreak of the virus.
A detailed explanation was provided on the latest statistics and procedures used in Bahrain to mitigate the spread of the virus. They also highlighted the achievements of the national medical team and the supporting teams in supervising the quarantine, isolation and treatment centres, the follow-up on existing cases, the updating policies and cooperation among all parties.
Meanwhile, BDF Hospital has installed portable chambers to isolate suspected COVID-19 cases, the 3-meter by 3-meter chambers are equipped with all the technology available at standard isolation rooms and undergo 48 air changes per hour, allowing for the safe transfer of suspected cases.
