Jude Bellingham couldn't make a breakthrough, and in the Madrid derby on Sunday, Real Madrid was held to a 0-0 draw by Rayo Vallecano. This result caused Real Madrid to drop to the second position in the Spanish league.
The draw disrupted Madrid's perfect home record and prevented them from taking the top spot in the standings alongside Girona after 12 rounds, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).
Girona had moved three points ahead with a 4-2 victory over Osasuna on Saturday.
While Madrid dominated most of the match, they were unable to convert their scoring opportunities. Both Bellingham and Vinícius Júnior struggled to penetrate the Rayo defense.
Vinícius had a goal disallowed for offside in the 66th minute.
The result extended Rayo's remarkable unbeaten run in the league to eight games, consisting of two wins and six draws.
