Riffa Views International School (RVIS) is set to expand its robotics workshops series for January 2024 through a visionary collaboration with MIT alumni Maryam Al Jomairi, Marwa Al Alawi, and Latifa Al Khayat.

This initiative, a manifestation of the foresight and dedication of both RVIS and its MIT co-founders, is aligned with the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) Arab World program. Its goal is to broaden the scope of innovative educational opportunities for students across Bahrain.

In partnership with Aion Digital and Etisalcom, this year's series encompasses "Mastering the Future: Unleashing the Power of Automation with Robotics" and an advanced course titled "Autobot Challenge: Engineering Autonomous Vehicles." These workshops cater to students from both government and private schools.

The workshops are meticulously crafted to provide students with comprehensive, hands-on experiences in robotics and engineering. The curriculum ranges from basic coding and 3D modeling to advanced autonomous vehicle programming.

Last year's program showcased a diverse range of tasks, allowing students to delve into everything from basic robot programming to intricate engineering assignments. This illustrated the significant impact of hands-on learning experiences.

Reflecting on her participation in the previous year's program, Mariam Al Khalifa expressed, "Participating in last year's program was an amazing experience for me. It was incredible to see our ideas come to life, and I really appreciated working with MIT student instructors. The hands-on experience not only deepened my understanding of robotics but also ignited a passion for innovation and problem-solving."

Initiated by Maryam, Marwa, and Latifa, the program stands as a testament to their commitment to enhancing Bahrain’s educational landscape with cutting-edge technology. Their endeavors have facilitated meaningful cultural and scientific exchanges between Bahraini institutions and MIT.

Jo Garrahy, the Head of School at RVIS, expressed enthusiasm about expanding this transformative educational opportunity, stating, "We are enthusiastic about expanding this transformative educational opportunity and are confident it will continue to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers in Bahrain.
