The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) commended the dedication of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the principles of tolerance, safeguarding the practice of religious freedom, and upholding the freedom of opinion, thought, conscience, and belief. It views these values as essential foundations for fostering coexistence and tolerance. The SCIA acknowledged a series of groundbreaking initiatives, wise visions, and noble endeavors undertaken by His Majesty both domestically and internationally.

In a statement marking the International Day for Tolerance, the council praised the government's endeavors, spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These efforts aim to realize the royal visions in the realm of tolerance through initiatives aligned with a rational legislative framework and developmental, educational, cultural, and media policies.

The Council emphasized that moderation, coexistence, and tolerance align with Islamic teachings and are integral to Bahraini cultural heritage. It asserted that these values are crucial pillars of social security and key components of unity and development in human societies, a fact recognized globally.

Recalling the Kingdom's initiation of the Bahrain Dialogue Forum "East and West for Human Coexistence" the previous year, under the patronage of HM the King, the Council highlighted the participation of His Eminence Shaikh Al Azhar Al Sharif, the Grand Imam and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, along with His Holiness the Pope of the Catholic Church.

Furthermore, the Council called for concerted efforts to promote these values among the populace, emphasizing their inclusion in school curricula and media programs. This should be done within the framework of established principles, values, and customs.
