A total of 468 stalls of street vendors had been removed in the first quarter of this year in the Capital Municipality of Bahrain.

The Capital Municipality has identified 11 dilapidated buildings in the first three months of this year in Capital Municipality and is taking the necessary administrative procedures ahead of destroying them.

The Capital Municipality has intensified its monitoring and inspection tours in Ramadan to address the phenomenon of violating vendors across markets and commercial outlets, as part of its efforts to protect the health and safety of consumers.

The number of violating vendors is lower than that of the same period in 2019 as a result of the precautionary measures taken by the Government Executive Committee to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), including the closure of commercial outlets and the lockdown.

The efforts to control and follow up on the phenomenon of street vendors had been intensified, in cooperation with the Interior Ministry and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority.
